About LNESC Austin
LNESC Austin’s mission is to empower youth by providing the tools and opportunities needed for higher education and career success. We achieve this by offering a blend of educational support, career exploration, networking opportunities, civic engagement, and leadership development. Through these resources, LNESC Austin helps students build a strong foundation for their future, fostering both academic achievement and personal growth.
Our services are delivered through the U.S. Department of Education’s TRIO programs, specifically TRIO Talent Search; through corporate initiatives like AT&T’s Digital Education Initiative; and in collaboration with LULAC Districts 7 and 12. We proudly serve students in the Austin Independent School District and surrounding communities, broadening our impact and guiding young people toward success in education and beyond.

About LNESC
LULAC National Educational Services Centers (LNESC) is the educational arm of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), a 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization located in Washington DC. LULAC is the oldest and largest Latino civil rights organization in the United States. It was founded in 1929 to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, housing, health, and civil rights of Hispanic Americans. LULAC has a strong national network with 525 local councils and 145,000 members across the United States and Puerto Rico,
In 1968, a San Francisco LULAC council developed a financial aid and college admissions outreach program designed to assist academically gifted but disadvantaged, low-income youth access to college. Based on the success of this program, the LULAC National Office submitted a grant proposal in 1973 to provide these services on a national level. Shortly after, it established LNESC as a separately incorporated entity with its own governing board and independent control over its programs.
In 1975, LNESC created the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF), which solicits funds from major corporations to supply scholarships for Hispanic students. The program was expanded in 1976 to involve local LULAC councils by matching their fundraising efforts with funds from corporate grants. Currently, approximately 60 LULAC councils participate in the program, with over 25 corporations providing matching funds. LNESC currently operates 16 education and technology centers across the United States and Puerto Rico.

In recent years, the LNESC Washington Youth Leadership Seminar has experienced substantial growth, now bringing over 50 outstanding high school students to Washington, D.C., for a four-day leadership seminar every October.
Overall, through our education and technology centers nationwide, LNESC has served over 500,000 students, sent 150,000 students on to college, and awarded over $25 million in scholarships. LNESC’s results are made possible by a network of dedicated field staff, top-notch teachers, over 90 school partners, and the support of LULAC.
