
LNESC AUSTIN implements a Department of Education-funded program called TRiO Educational Talent Search and partners with Austin Independent School District. TRiO Talent Search is year-round, and it helps low-income and first-generation students who aspire to go to college by providing:
- Tutoring and Mentoring
- Academic help and advising on courses
- Test Prep
- University/college field trips
- Financial literacy for college-planning
- Academic and Professional Guest Speakers
- Career Exploration
- STEM-related, Entrepreneurship, and Cultural Activities and Events
- Volunteer opportunities
- Scholarships
- Internships
Who is eligible to apply?
The main focus of LNESC AUSTIN Talent Search is helping low-income and first-generation students, but other students are free to apply with preference to students from Akins, Eastside, Navarro, Northeast High Schools and Paredes and Dobie Middle Schools.
What Happens After I Turn in My Application?
We will review the application and notify your student whether or not they are eligible for the program.
Are All Services Free?
Yes, all services and program supplies are provided by the Department of Education funding.
